Officers include the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Meeting Chairman, and Secretary. The officers rotate through the Chairs at every UTRC Meeting, a minimum three-year commitment. Balance is maintained between civil, mining, contractors, designers, industrial, and consulting backgrounds. Membership in ASCE or SME is required. Technical Committee Coordinator The Technical Committee Coordinator assists the Technical Committee Chairmen and frequently updates the Officers. Designated Representatives are appointed by the ASCE Construction Institute and by SME. Contact Members currently maintain communication between UTRC and UCA of SME, RETC, AEG, ISEE, ASME, SME, and the ASCE GeoInstitute as organizations with mutual interests. Technical Committee Chairmen are ASCE or SME members with ideas that will further the UTRC objectives. This involvement is often attractive to persons in mid-career positions. Their ideas are formed and they have the resources, time, energy, enthusiasm, and determination to complete the work. Committees are initially formed for a period of three years with annual objectives. Technical Committee Membership Committee members have experience, ideas, and resources, and a desire to actively contribute to UTRC Technical Committee work. One need not be a member of ASCE or SME. These persons are normally selected by the Technical Committee Chairman in consultation with the Executive Committee. Senior members of our industries, who often have extensive time commitments that preclude extensive participation, may contribute as Senior Advisors to Technical Committees. Each Technical Committee has a UTRC Executive Committee Member as a Sponsor. Presently Active Technical Committees
